ZEISS Connect is a mobile application designed for iPad that facilitates wireless connectivity with the ZEISS EXTARO 300 surgical microscope. The system aims to enhance clinical workflows by providing capabilities such as communication and education for patients, assistants, and colleagues; standardizing video and image documentation procedures; managing patient data; optimizing recording settings for videos and images; editing multimedia files; controlling illumination and camera functions directly from the device; and transmitting patient data to archiving solutions including DICOM, NAS, or Sidexis 4.

It is important to note that ZEISS Connect is not intended to replace existing patient information systems or picture archiving and communication systems (PACS). Additionally, it does not provide live images suitable for diagnostic purposes or support precise measurements critical to clinical decision-making.

The primary purpose of this application is to support documentation workflows in conjunction with the ZEISS EXTARO 300 surgical microscope. It enables users to acquire, display, edit, store, and distribute images and videos seamlessly. Furthermore, the app allows control of illumination and camera settings of the connected microscope. All information captured and stored within the app is intended solely for viewing and reference purposes and should not be considered suitable for primary diagnosis.
